What are the benefits of using an infrared sauna?
Muscle Pain Relief
Use of an infrared sauna as intended as part of a healthy lifestyle promotes the temporary increase in blood flow to muscles and may offer temporary relief of arthritic pain.
Muscles relax best when tissues are warm for greater flexibility and range of motion. Far Infrared heat may help relieve muscle tension by increasing the thermal energy in your muscles.
Ease Joint Pain & Stiffness
Infrared heat may temporarily ease joint pain and stiffness. Increased thermal energy to the joints may promote a temporary increase in blood flow. Increased thermal energy may reduce stiffness and increase range of motion.
Detoxification
“It has been known for decades that sweating is a wonderful way to get rid of stored chemicals, including heavy metals. In fact, sauna is one of the detoxification procedures used in the Environmental Units in Dallas (Dr. William Rea) and North Charleston (Dr. Allan Lieberman) where the sickest of folks go to heal.” Dr. Sherry Rogers, Total Wellness, May 2000.
Improves Skin Health
The profuse sweating achieved after just a few minutes in your Clearlight Sauna will allow impurities in the pores to come out. The temporary increase in local blood circulation may help reduce the risk of certain chronic skin conditions.
What are the benefits of chromotherapy?
Light Therapy has been reported, as part of a healthy lifestyle, to temporarily reduce swelling, relieve pain, decrease inflammation, accelerate open wound healing and greatly reduce overall recovery after medical/surgical procedures. Patients have demonstrated increased range of motion, decreased muscle tension and spasm, and improved circulation.
Rejuvenating LED light therapy can be used for temporary pain management such as joint and back pain, sore or torn muscles, sprains, arthritis, post-surgical scars, burns, wounds and more. When used with infrared technology, light therapy (phototherapy) is one of the most effective and noninvasive ways to improve overall wellness.
Light therapy is also used to temporarily relieve Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). SAD effects individuals when the lack of sunlight results in seasonal depression. Phototherapy helps with SAD by resetting the internal biological clock (Circadian rhythms), helping individuals sleep better and regulate their mood. Even companies, such as GE and Philips, have created phototherapeutic products to improve and regulate mood.
Tip for an Optimal Sauna Session
Hydrate: Drink plenty of water before and after to support detoxification. We will provide a small water bottle with each session but recommend bringing your own water to ensure you are getting enough.
Sauna Prep: Bathing or rinsing off before you arrive will help rid your skin of any excess lotions, oils, makeup products, sweat, and dirt.
Less is More: Wear minimal clothing to maximize infrared absorption. Your core should be uncovered to raise the body’s temperature. A bikini or sports bra and shorts are recommended.
Start Slow: Start with shorter sessions and gradually increase session length and temperature as your body adapts to infrared sauna sessions.
Open the Door: If you feel too warm, you can open the door without losing the benefits of infrared therapy.
Relax: Meditate, practice deep breathing, listen to music, or simply enjoy the calming environment.
Cool Down: Let your body cool down naturally after your sauna session.
Wipe Off: After your session, you may want to towel off. We will provide you with a towel but feel free to bring your own if you’d like.
